Laurence Gardner (17 May 1943 – 12 August 2010) was a British author and lecturer. He wrote on various topics including historical-religious speculation such as the Jesus bloodline. [1.] |
He also was a guest lecturer at RSE, Ramtha’s School of Enlightenment. I am currently reading his book The Magdalene Legacy: The Jesus and Mary Bloodline Conspiracy – Revelations Beyond The Da Vinci Code when I read something that startled me. |
The New Testament has his perplexing verse discussing the women that Jesus healed: |
2 And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils. [2.] |
Laurence Gardner explains that Pope Gregory used this verse to cast negative sexual innuendo on Mary Magdalene. |
In the year 591, Pope Gregory 1 gave an historic sermon which included references to Mary Magdalene. It was in this address that he confirmed Mary the sinner and Mary of Bethany to be one and the same, as detailed in John 11:2. But in the course of this, he also tackled the subject of the ’seven devils’, coming to the conclusion that they represented the seven Capital Sins (the ‘deadly vices’ as they are more commonly called). Mary was guilty, he intimated, of pride, envy, gluttony, lust, anger, greed and sloth — all seven! [3.] |

In the Gospel era, as in the Greco-Egyptian culture, ‘Mary’ was not so much a name as a distinction. This is why there were a number of Marys associated with Jesus. Although nominally apparent in the New Testament, the non-canonical Gospel of Philip makes particular mention of this: ‘There were three who always walked with the Lord … his sister and his mother and his consort were each a Mary’. [4.] |

Marys were raised in a chaste monastic environment within specific holy orders, and they were subject to strict regulations that applied until they were chosen to be betrothed. Prior to this, Marys were under the authority of the Chief Scribe, who was classified as the Demon Priest Number 7. Ranking in seniority from Number 1 upwards, the seven demon priests were established as a symbolic opposition group to those priests who were considered to represent the seven lights of the Menorah (the seven-branched candlestick of Jewish tradition). It was the duty of the seven demon priests to supervise and keep watch on the female celibates - just like the Devil’s Advocate, who probes the background of potential candidates for canonization in the Roman Catholic Church today. Upon marriage, however, the women were released from the charge of the seven demons (or devils), which meant in effect that the rules of celibacy no longer applied. What we glean from this is that, when the seven devils ‘went out’ of Mary Magdalene, she was being released from conventual ties in order to marry. [5.] |

So what we find here is the Catholic Church deliberately created a “smoke screen” to camouflage the fact that Mary Magdalene was one of Jesus’ closest diciples and possibly his wife.
Gardner’s description of Mary belonging to a “chase monastic environment” triggered a memory of one of Ramtha’s teachings, although the memory was vague. I knew it was from an audio tape that Carl had played at a Gifts of the Spirit Church service on several occasions. The title of the tape was The Story of Jesus. It was recorded in 1982 and was labeled Vol. A #13.[6.] On this recording, which lasts about 2 hours (on both sides of two cassette tapes), Ramtha gave an highly detailed account of Jesus’s life and death.

I was uncertain if I still had a copy of the tape, so I decided to look for it online. I was unable to find it, but I did find that a set of the Story of Jesus tapes had been sold in January 2017 for $5000! Then I remembered that I had digitized this tape set. So I searched my external hard drive, and sure enough, I found files I created in 2011. I studied the files and then edited them to improve the sound quality with software and techniques I did not know in 2011.
Ramtha talks of the “school” of young virgins who were being prepared to become the mother of the great ascended master, who decided to incarnate into a flesh body to bring enlightenment into the world. He tells of Mary, the mother of Jesus, becoming the “vessel” for Jesus to incarnate. Listen to Ramtha telling this fascinating story.

I find it fascinating that both Gardner and Ramtha describe a similar “school” for virgins, but these schools were from different groups and spanned some time since Mary, the mother of Jesus, was older than Mary Magdalene. |
